White Collar Crime Defense

On Behalf of | Nov 5, 2010 | Criminal Defense |

There are many defenses to white collar crimes.  Many times, these types of allegations are alleged and there is a reasonable solution that both sides can live with. Also, it is important to remember that just like in state court, the U.S. Attorney must prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt in order to obtain a conviction in federal court.

Fraud is a very common allegation in white collar crime cases.  One example is false statements to obtain property or credit.  In layman’s terms, that means lying on a credit application.

There are a number of ways for making a false statement to obtain property or credit on a mortgage application:  1. Stating that the premises will be used as the homestead/primary residence; 2. Mis-stating income; 3. etc.

However, there are not only criminal but civil consequences to white collar crime allegations.
