Johnny Depp Nasty Divorce

Actor Johnny Depp is in more of a pickle than what came out in the news recently. His soon to be ex-wife Amber Heard of a total of 15 months indicated that Depp was emotionally and physically abusive throughout their short marriage.  In fact, she rolled into court today with her lawyers sporting a black eye.  Heard indicated that she was on the phone with a girlfriend when Depp snatched it out of her hand in a fit of rage and she screamed for her girlfriend to call 911.

Reportedly, Depp was not at the home when the police arrived and Heard declined to make a statement incriminating him of Family Violence or Domestice Violence. Apparently, the judge granted Heard’s request for a TRO or Temporary Restraining Order after she represented to the court that she was concerned for her safety. Heard filed the divorce shortly after the aforementioned 911 phone call incident.

This could be a very expensive divorce for Mr. Depp.  Thankfully, there are no children adopted, born during or expected from the marriage.  So, there will be no child custody or child support issues to deal with in divorce court.  Nevertheless, if Mr. Depp was in Texas he could be charged with and indicted for a 3rd Degree Felony of Continuing Family Violence for allegedly abusing Heard more than one time during a 12 month time period.  At the very least, he would be facing charges of Assault Causes Bodily Injury-Family Violence.  That is a Class A misdemeanor and carries with it a range of punishment of up to 365 days in jail.
